Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms

By accessing or using StepFlow ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you're using the Service on behalf of a company or organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity. "You" refers to you individually or the entity you represent.

If you don't agree to these Terms, don't use the Service.

2. The service

StepFlow provides a software-as-a-service platform that uses AI to convert video recordings into structured, step-by-step documentation ("Manuals"). We may update, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. We'll notify you of material changes via email or in-app announcement.

3. Accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • Provide accurate, current information and keep it updated.
  • You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • Notify us immediately at security@stepflow.app if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • Each account is for a single user (or organisation on team plans). Do not share login credentials.

4. Your content

You retain all ownership rights to videos you upload and Manuals you create ("Your Content"). By uploading content to StepFlow, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to process, store, display, and transmit Your Content solely to provide the Service to you.

You represent that you have all rights necessary to upload Your Content and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights. You are solely responsible for Your Content and its accuracy.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Upload content that infringes intellectual property rights
  • Upload content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, or defamatory
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract our AI models
  • Conduct automated scraping or mass-download of generated content
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

6. Billing and payments

  • Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis.
  • All prices are in USD unless stated otherwise.
  • You authorise us to charge your payment method on each billing date.
  • If payment fails, we'll retry and notify you. After 7 days of failed payment, paid features may be suspended.
  • Annual plans are non-refundable except where required by law. Monthly plans may be cancelled any time; access continues until the end of the billing period.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice. Existing annual subscriptions are locked for the current term.

7. Intellectual property

StepFlow and its licensors own all intellectual property in the Service, including the software, algorithms, design, and documentation. These Terms don't grant you any right to use our name, trademarks, or branding without written permission.

AI-generated content in your Manuals (step descriptions, translations) is owned by you, not StepFlow, subject to applicable law.

8. Confidentiality

Both parties may receive confidential information from the other. Each party agrees to protect the other's confidential information with at least the same care it uses for its own, and not to disclose it without prior written consent, except as required by law.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. STEPFLOW DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWING ALL GENERATED CONTENT BEFORE PUBLISHING IT FOR OPERATIONAL USE.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STEPFLOW'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100 USD. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time from account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, with notice unless the breach is severe. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. We'll retain your content for 90 days after termination in case you reactivate, then delete it.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved by binding arbitration under the AAA Commercial Arbitration Rules, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court with jurisdiction.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes at least 14 days in advance. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
